ZAK FROM THE DEAD

CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE MORTON ........... 1 FALKIRK ............ 1

-

KENNY MacDONALD AT CAPPIELOW chanting at their rivals: “Ray McKinnon, he’s taking you down!”

However, they were silenced as Rudden dived to power a six-yard header high into the net from Dixon’s delivery five minutes from the interval to equalise.

And fired-up Falkirk fans invaded the pitch with several jeering home supporters in the Cowshed.

The second half had little pattern but plenty of passion and it boiled over in 69 minutes when Dixon was dismissed for a second bookable offence after hauling down Kiltie a few yards outside the penalty area.

The Bairns struggled to lay a glove on Ton in the second half and having been reduced to 10 men it looked like mission impossible.

In 68 minutes Cappielow captain Chris Millar could have sealed it when the ball broke to him outside the box only to blaze high and wide of the target leaving him clutching his head in despair.

Robert Thomson burst clear on the left and pounded into the penalty box with eight minutes left but Bairns defender William Edjenguele produced a fantastic blocking tackle to snuff out the danger.

The Bairns were clinging on for the point while Ton staged a late rally in a bid for that elusive winner.

And in the dying embers of the game keeper Burgoyne took a fine catch from a vicious, inswinging freekick from Michael Tidser.
