Stevie: We’ll be ready for a backlash

- BY GARY RALSTON

STEVEN GERRARD has warned his stars to be picture perfect and prepare for a Scottish Cup backlash from Aberdeen.

Rangers players were accused of going over the top in their dressing-room celebrations after their 4-2 win at Pittodrie last month.

The Ibrox men claimed they were fired up at seeing pictures of the Dons’ Betfred Cup victory over them in October lining the stadium walls. Now

ALFREDO MORELOS has revealed Steven Gerrard insisted he stay at Rangers after offers were received from clubs in England, Spain, Italy and France.

The Colombian is now on 28 goals for the season after netting in Rangers’ midweek romp over Dundee.

Morelos has embarked on a series of interviews with the Colombian media this week and he’s admitted he will likely leave Ibrox this summer.

And, in an interview with Colombian TV station BY JOHN GARDNER Caracol’s “Gol” sports programme, Morelos claims he could have left Rangers in the last transfer window.

He said: “I had proposals from Italy, Spain, France and England but the manager told me I will stay.

“I wanted to take the chance to continue learning under the leadership of a legend like Steven Gerrard.

“My main aim is to play for the national team and hopefully play in the Copa America this summer. For that I have to keep working hard for Rangers and wait until the summer to see if there is a way out.

“I have not had any communication with Carlos Queiroz yet. I don’t know if he is coming to watch me.

“He’s managed many very good teams and countries. He is a good coach. I’d love to work with him. I know I have a lot of competition to make it into the squad – there is Duvan Zapata, Falcao, Carlos Bacca, Miguel Borja and

Luis Muriel.”
