Bren: I hope to return to boss Hoops

-

police are investigating a vile online video of a group of supporters chanting for him to be shot dead by the IRA.

The storm of bad blood means it is unlikely that Rodgers would be welcomed back to Celtic Park as a spectator.

but when this was put to him yesterday, Rodgers insisted he hopes to be back in the home dugout in a few years from now for a second stint in charge.

He said: “I would be hugely, hugely disappointed if I never could go back there. I would be incredibly disappointed if I never could after everything I’ve given.”

When asked if he was relieved to have escaped Scottish football’s often toxic environment, he went on: “It’s just different. Would I work in Scotland again? Of course I would. I loved every single second of being there.

“When it calms down in maybe 10 years I could maybe go back to Celtic.”

When asked if he meant returning to the club as manager Rodgers answered emphatically: “yes. Absolutely. 100 per cent.”

And he believes his rift with the fans will smooth over given time.

He said: “It’s just time. I’m experienced enough now and I’ve been around football for long enough now with coaching.

“And the experience I’ve gained has allowed me not to get too affected by words.

“I tend to focus more on the good side. Like I said, supporters will hurt and I get that.

“I understand that. That’s why I’ll never come out and kill them.”
