FLASHER SHAME OF EX-TERROR KINGPIN

-

A FORMER terror chief who was once known as one of Europe’s most dangerous men has admitted exposing himself in public.

Samuel “Skelly” McCrory, 53, also shouted, swore, made homophobic remarks and acted in an aggressive manner during the incident.

At Ayr Sheriff Court, Sheriff Desmond Leslie told him: “This is pretty disgusting behaviour for a man of your age.

“Should this happen again, you will almost certainly be facing custody.”

The sheriff said the incident in Prestwick in January was public indecency, rather than being sexually motivated. On that basis, he did not place McCrory, of Ayr, on the sex offenders’ register.

He ordered the Ulsterman to complete 150 hours of unpaid work. McCrory was also placed on an 18-month supervision order to include alcohol BY RECORD REPORTER counselling. His lawyer Glenn Davis told the court: “Mr McCrory has an overdependence on alcohol in times of crisis.”

McCrory was the last commander of UDA inmates in the Maze prison in Belfast and the closest confidant of Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair, who called him his “top operator”.

In 1998, McCrory was one of four loyalist prisoners chosen to meet the then Northern Ireland Secretary Mo Mowlam in the Maze in a bid to salvage peace talks.

In his youth, McCrory formed a racist skinhead gang along with future UDA brigadiers
