Giving it the hard celeb

PICK DAY

-

EMMERDALE STV, 7pm and 8pm YOU can imagine it’s hardly harmonious as Marlon, Jessie, Paddy and Kerry all arrive in Belfast together – on Marlon and Jessie’s honeymoon. Tensions get worse when there’s a problem with the accommodation.

Marlon and Paddy head off in search of Bear, while Kerry sets out to try and find daughter Amy. Will any of them find who they are looking for?

Meanwhile, Ellis can’t take his eyes off Tracy and Billy, and persists in his plan to try and make Victoria jealous. CELEBRITY APPRENTICE FOR COMIC RELIEF

BBC1, 9pm PUTTING the biz into showbusiness, 10 celebrity candidates have been given a task by Lord Sugar, all in the name of charity – and it makes for lots of laughs.

The stars from the worlds of entertainment, sport, journalism and comedy have to organise and host a cabaret night to raise as much cash as possible for Comic Relief.

Arriving in the famous boardroom are presenter and actress Amanda Holden, presenter Rylan Clark-Neal, TV personality Ayda Field, comedians Omid Djalili and Russell Kane, Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold, interior designer Kelly Hoppen, EastEnder Tameka Empson, journalist Rachel Johnson and football manager Sam Allardyce.

Lord Sugar immediately gets their backs up, referring to Rylan’s skin colour as “baked satsuma” and telling off Sam for swanning in late.

Kelly manages the women’s team, while Rylan, a surprisingly fierce negotiator, heads up the men. It’s a tall order because they must book performers, sell tickets, organise the food and drink and find high-value items for auction.

But as they set about their task, it’s clear that it’s not “what you know” but “who you know”.

So the bunch of well-connected celebs are in their element.

“I could probably get four of the Spice Girls,” says Rylan. We’re not entirely sure if he’s joking. Meanwhile, Ayda puts in a call to her hubby, megastar Robbie Williams, to see if he’ll headline their show, and Omid even wonders if he can book Cher.

Watch out for several show-stopping moments, including some awkward ones too, and plenty of panic.
