Grieving fans raise a glass to star Keith

Gun-toting cops swoop near shopping centre

FANS of The Prodigy will make a pilgrimage to frontman Keith Flint’s old pub today to pay their respects.

The singer, 49, is believed to have hanged himself at his £1.5million home in Essex on Monday.

Flint saved his local, the Leather Bottle, from closure in 2014 and ran it for more than two years.

Current landlord Robert Reilly said fans have been coming to the pub, in Pleshey, Essex, from as far as Poland to pay homage to Flint, with many more expected today.

He said: “The phone has not stopped ringing all week. It’s just been crazy.”

Flint, who lived in nearby North End, was popular with locals. One 70-yearold woman said: “We liked him immensely. It’s so sad – he will be missed.” WITH guns drawn, police swoop on a car near a busy shopping centre.

Passers-by looked on in shock as three armed response vehicles blocked off a grey Mercedes near Parkhead Forge in Glasgow.

Video footage shows a man get out of the passenger seat with his hands up and walk towards black-clad officers pointing guns towards him. He gets to his knees and is handcuffed.

An officer then opens and checks the boot of the Mercedes.

Witnesses said three men were taken from the car.

One onlooker said: “It looked like it was all going to kick BY ARTHUR VUNDLA off. There was about six or seven officers with guns pointing at the car, shouting at them to get out.

“The three men got out of the car one by one and got taken away in separate police cars.

“There were also a couple of unmarked police cars there.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Four men have been arrested and detained in police custody following a policing operation in the east end of Glasgow today.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
