GET READY TO FIGHT YOUR HEARTS OUT

-

SENY DIENG has warned his Dundee team-mates to steel themselves for a scrap against Hearts – because fired-up Jambos will go for the jugular at Dens Park.

The keeper is all geared up for today’s crunch clash when the second-bottom battlers host Craig Levein’s Jambos in their fight for Premiership survival.

The on-loan QPR keeper is aware the Taysiders won 2-1 against the odds on their return to league duty from the winter break back in January.

Now the 24-year-old Swiss star expects Hearts to be gunning for revenge while Dundee also bid to make amends for back-toback recent defeats against Hibs and Rangers,

Dieng said: “It was frustrating not to have a game last week to get the defeats out of our system.

“But it just means we are even more excited about this upcoming match with Hearts. We want to put things right against them. That’s our aim.

“But we will have to fight hard against Hearts. Make no mistake, they will also try to make things right.

“I can see it’s going to be a bit of a fight. We beat them the last time we played in January which BY EUAN McARTHUR they will remember. So we know we can beat them but they’ll be fired up and won’t lack any motivation.”

Dieng’s been impressive between the sticks since arriving early in the New Year and has no doubt the relegation-threatened Dens men can seal safety.

He said: “I’m just trying to help the best I can to beat the drop. I’m sure we’ll get out of it. We’re working hard every day in training to get the results.

“It’s been tough in the past couple of games but overall we are seeing signs of progression.

“We have to keep that going and try to pick up as many points as possible.”

St Mirren are breathing down Dundee’s necks after last weekend’s 1-0 win over Livingston, although Dieng doesn’t feel extra pressure.

He said: “We still have to do the same as we had before, whether St Mirren won or not last Saturday.

“It doesn’t matter as far as we’re concerned. We’re not feeling extra pressure because of their recent result. We just have to focus on ourselves and not worry about anyone else.

“We’re in a situation where it’s down to us.”
