UNITED WANT OLE TO PLAY THE FULL NOW

-

MANCHESTER UNITED want to confirm Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as permanent boss during the international break.

Solskjaer, who has been on a remarkable run, is now the only contender and Old Trafford chiefs have already decided to make him their next manager.

United had originally planned to leave the decision until the end of the season but are now BY JOHN CROSS ready to bring it forward to allow planning to take place for next season.

That will also be seen as a fitting reward for Solskjaer after he guided United into the Champions League quarterfinals and to within touching distance of the top-four places in the Premier League. United will pay Solskjaer’s Norwegian club Molde a compensation package of around £8million as he is set to leave them to take over full time at Old Trafford.

It is now just a matter of time before Solskjaer is announced as manager and the forthcoming international break is the obvious choice.

United face Wolves on Saturday in the FA Cup and then there is a 10-day window for international matches, a period in which United want to pin things down.

Former United defender Gary Neville even hinted last week after the club’s win at Paris St Germain that he would “be surprised” if they do not confirm him during that spell and the club are now moving in that direction.
