A SUREFIRE hit for fans of shooter games such as Halo or The Division.

The premise of this game, set on an unnamed planet , is for your hero to protect humanity from threats beyond its walls. As history tells it, the gods of this world created the planet with The Anthem of Creation but left before they finished.

Unstable relics left behind can spontaneously terraform sections of the planet, mutate wildlife, change the local climate, create portals, and spawn monstrous creatures.

You take on the role of Freelancer, who defends through the use of a fully customisable exosuit called a Javelin.

The world you explore in Anthem is amazing – there’s no other word to describe it. While playing, I likened it to the planet Pandora which was so brilliantly visualised by James Cameron in the film Avatar back in 2009.

There are endless trees and landscape with caves and caverns to explore, while flying in your chosen Javelin. The landscape takes on different levels, high up through the clouds as well as underground and through waterfalls. The game is visually stunning. I found gameplay brilliant at times thanks to the battle options through upgrades and crafted weapons and flying to a battle and landing like Iron Man.

Anthem is one not to be missed with a story that will keep you hooked all the way through and with great gunplay and a flying mechanic that can only be described as heavenly.

A definite purchase.
