A MUM has told of her heartbreak after her “amazing and kind” son was found dead in a padlocked flat.

Officers forced entry into a council property in Aberdeen’s Torry area, where it’s thought Michael Stewart had lain for several weeks.

The grim find was made on March 8, the same day his mum Jane appealed on social media for people to keep a look out for him.

Jane Grant said 32-yearold Michael had been missing for more than two months.

His death is being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious. Yesterday, his heartbroken mum paid tribute to him on a gofundme.com page launched to raise money for Michael’s funeral.

Jane said: “My boy had a heart of gold. He was amazing, funny, kind.

“He had a loving family who will miss him dearly, as will all his friends. He

was my son, friend and comfort, he was one in a million and will always be remembered for the funloving man he was.”

She told the Record: “I only went to gofundme so my son can get the best I can give him.

“I’m on benefit as I have disabilty problems. I’m worried I don’t have enough to give my son the best I can in such a sad situation.

“I never thought I’d have to bury my son.”

An Aberdeen City Council spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with the family and all those affected.

“Aberdeen City Council has supported police in their inquiries.”
