Kyle up for latest mad end to Saints’ season
KYLE MAGENNIS has declared himself fit and ready to play a part in St Mirren’s traditional “mad” end of the season.
The Scotland Under-21 star came off the bench on Saturday after four months out to help Saints record a vital 3-1 win at Livingston.
The Buddies have either been pushing for promotion or fighting against relegation in each of Magennis’ three seasons in the first team.
He said: “It’s always exciting for us at the end of each season although it can be nerve-wracking as well.
“I’ve experienced a lot of mad football and I’m still only 20. But we can thrive off it and hopefully we can do it.
“It’s the most important BY GRAEME MacPHERSON part of the season so it’s just good to be back to help the boys out. I want to make up for lost time now.
“I don’t know if the gaffer has it in my plans to start me but even if I have to come off the bench I’m desperate to do my bit. I’ve been out for a long time so I’m going to give it everything to help keep us up.
“It’s been hard this season with me getting injured and the team struggling a bit, especially on the back of last year’s high winning the league.
“The fans will be feeling the same. It’s been hard on everyone. But we’ve all stuck together and now there’s a real buzz about the place.”
