Emmerdale’s Asan N’Jie in threat to Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas
ASAN N’Jie is held back as he angrily confronts a pointing Jamie Lomas during a foul-mouthed bust-up at a TV awards ceremony.
And the Emmerdale star, who has been involved in a knife attack storyline in the soap, threatened to stab the Hollyoaks actor to death after launching into a furious tirade.
Asan, who is said to have appeared drunk, bellowed at the 44-year-old: “Do you think you are a f ***** g big man? I’m going to f ***** g kill you. I’m going to f ***** g knife you.”
The pair had to be pulled apart twice by security during the row at the Hilton hotel in Central London on Monday.
Asan, who plays Ellis Chapman in ITV’s Emmerdale, was later escorted away by security while still shouting he wanted to “kill” Jamie. Hollyoaks co-star Malique Thompson-Dwyer led Jamie, who was married to Corrie star Kym Marsh from 2012 to 2014, from the confrontation, as shocked guests looked on. Malique said later: “I told him to relax. I told him, ‘This isn’t that kind of party’.”
The 11pm row came after the TV Choice Awards, in which Asan had been nominated for Best Newcomer.
Stunned celebrities such as Chris Packham and Love Island’s Kem Cetinay looked on open-mouthed.
Asan left 15 minutes later with
GLAM Jamie with Corrie star Kym soap co-star Jay Kontzle and another woman. Jamie stayed till about 2am drinking with Love Island’s Amber Gill and Malique. Asan’s awards nomination came on the back of an Emmerdale plotline in April where Ellis was
stabbed. The actor said: “I’m glad we’re exploring it. Especially in London, the knife crime rate is through the roof. So to explore a sensitive issue like this can only be positive.
“If we put light on to these issues, hopefully the quicker it will stop.”
The capital is in the grip of a knife crime epidemic. Of the 20 teenagers murdered this year, 18 were stabbed.
ITV said: “We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at the TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale’s cast. We will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course.”
Hollyoaks declined to comment.
