Mario: We expect to beat Celts

-

CELTIC have been offered an early shot at revenge over Rangers in this year’s Scottish Youth Cup.

The Hoops will host the Light Blues next month following yesterday’s second-round draw – after Gers beat Celtic in April to lift the under-18s trophy.

Youth Cup 2nd Round Ties to be played Friday, November 8.

SKIPPER Mario Camora says Cluj “expect” another Parkhead glory night after shocking Lazio too.

Dan Petrescu’s side return for tomorrow’s Europa League group game almost two months after knocking Celtic out of the Champions League.

Cluj inflicted a 4-3 second-leg defeat in their third-round qualifier only to join Neil Lennon’s side in crashing out after losing to Slavia Prague.

But Camora reckons beating Lazio 2-1 in their Group E opener serves as a warning they are a force on the continental stage.

The defender, 33, said: “We are expecting Celtic to give everything. They were criticised when they lost to us and it would have hurt them. We expect a reaction. We know it will be tough.

“We are aiming for three points. If we don’t play for that then there is no point turning up. But let’s not forget we are a team who have already shown what we can do by beating a club like Lazio. If you have belief and spirit you can beat anyone. That result made a lot of clubs across Europe sit up and take notice of us.

“It also means we are now in a good position in the group. In Scotland it will be difficult but we have won before and we expect to do it again.” MORITZ BAUER witnessed some of the greatest ever European games last season after calling in favours from friends to land tickets.

Now the on-loan Celtic star aims to create some memories of his own as he prepares to make his Hoops Euro bow against Cluj at Parkhead tomorrow night.

Bauer is buddies with Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri from their time together in the Swiss international youth set-up.

And the full-back was at Anfield on that unforgettable night as Jurgen Klopp’s men staged an incredible comeback to beat the mighty Barcelona 4-0 and book a place in the Champions League Final.

The 27-year-old is also good friends with Ajax’s Dusan Tadic and was there when they were on the wrong end of another astonishing turnaround in the other semi-final as Spurs won at the death in Amsterdam.

And Bauer was at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium for the final itself with Shaqiri an unused sub for Liverpool’s 2-0 win over their Premier League rivals.

The defender just came up short in his bid to reach the group stage with one of his former clubs Grasshopper Zurich as Lyon, Fiorentina, Lille and Brugge blocked his path on four separate occasions.

But Bauer has the chance to sample it at Celtic starting with tomorrow night’s Europa League Group E revenge mission against the Romanians who eliminated the Hoops from the Champions League qualifiers.

The defender was an unused sub for the 1-1 opening group draw against French cup winners Rennes.

And Bauer said: “Last season, because I had such a good contact with Xherdan, I was often at Anfield to watch Champions League nights.

“I was at THAT Barcelona match and it was great. They
