Dog snatched after attack on city street

-

BY LAURA PATERSON A DOG walker was attacked in the street by a man who then stole her chihuahua.

The 25-year-old woman and a man, 23, were walking her dog Coco in Broomhill, Glasgow, at about 11.30pm on Sunday when the incident happened on Broomhill Lane.

They were both assaulted before the suspect drove off with the dog in a blue Ford Fiesta.

Police later found the car but it had cloned number plates.

The suspect is said to be about 25, 5ft 4in and slim. He was wearing black clothing and had a scruffy appearance.

Detective Constable Joseph Keith said: “The woman has been left very upset and worried for the safety of her dog.” BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN JENNIFER Arcuri has said she and Boris Johnson bonded over their love of Shakespeare – but refused to respond to claims they had been carrying on like Romeo and Juliet.

In an interview yesterday, the American entrepreneur, 34, declined six times to answer whether she had had a romance with the Prime Minister, 55.

She said he visited her flat “five, 10… a handful of times” while he was mayor of London and that she saved his number in her phone under the name of “Alex the Great” – the PM’s full name is Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson.

Arcuri confirmed there was a pole dancing pole in the east London home and added she told the Tory she could have used it to “show him a few things”.

Johnson is being investigated over a potential conflict of interest in relation to his friendship with Arcuri during his time as mayor from 2008 to 2016.

It has emerged recently her company received around £26,500 of public money during this period. There are also claims she got preferential treatment by joining foreign trade missions led by Johnson while he was in the role.

He is accused of not declaring a personal interest despite the friendship. They both deny any wrongdoing.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain yesterday, Arcuri refused to answer when repeatedly asked if she had a fling with Johnson.

She said: “It’s no one’s business what private life we had or didn’t have. Boris never ever gave me favouritism.”

She described him as “electrifying”, adding they grew close due to a “passion” for literature such as Shakespeare.

When GMB host Piers Morgan asked the mum of one whether there was a sexual relationship, she replied: “Would you like me to ask about your sex life?

“I thought about this a lot. The first reaction is to come out denying everything. But then when I saw the way I am objectified, dragged through the Press, I’m not going to answer that…

“I’m not going to put myself in that position to weaponise that. To use me as a pawn.”

Arcuri, who said she first met Johnson in 2011, added: “You’re forgetting that Boris is extremely personable. It’s not like he singled me out.

“He’s there to talk to anybody. He was always a really good friend.” She added: “Categorically, Boris has nothing to do with all of my other achievements. It’s absolute c**p.”

Former model Arcuri added they met at her Shoreditch flat, which doubled up as her office, because of the attention he attracted in public.

She said: “We tried having drinks out in public or having lunch; it just became too much of a mob show. So I said, ‘You just have to come to my office.’”

When asked whether Johnson had ever used the pole in the flat, Arcuri said: “I’m never going to tell you that.”

She added: “I did not have at length
