Reese and Jen: Friends forever

REESE Witherspoon has revealed she was firm pals with Jennifer Aniston long before they filmed a new series together.

The pair first met on the set of Friends in 1999 when Reese played Jill Green, sister of Jennifer’s character Rachel.

Culcreuch Castle Hotel, near Fintry in Stirlingshire, plans to shut on January 3, leaving engaged couples in the lurch.

Mhairi-Claire Hunter and Stewart Peters were supposed to have their wedding at the venue next July but are now frantically looking for a new location.

The couple, both 32, discovered the bad news in a letter sent by the hotel.

Receptionist Mhairi-Claire, from Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, said: “I was utterly devastated. I broke down in tears when I saw the letter. I wasn’t expecting it at all, there was no prior warning, no phone call, nothing.

“It’s soul destroying. We had everything sorted but now we’ve got to look around to find a place we want to get married in.”

About 30 workers will lose their jobs when the hotel closes, a decision taken by its US-based owner.

Robert Reynolds, the hotel’s general manager, said: “The owner has decided to close the hotel for restoration. The estate will stay open but the hotel will close, so it’s not just weddings affected.

“I have made sure the owners refunded the brides.”
