- BY MICHAEL GANNON

JOSH TAYLOR insists it will be a war at the O2 and has pledged to knock Regis Prograis out on his way to global glory.

The IBF champ is determined to grab the American ace’s WBA belt on October 25 in London – along with the Ring Magazine title and World Boxing Super Series Ali Trophy.

Taylor is convinced he will unify the division and claim his throne as the best light welterweight on the planet.

And the Prestonpans puncher admitted he’s HOPING that Prograis comes out all guns blazing as it will play right in to his heavy hands.

Taylor said: “He’s saying it’s going to be a dogfight but if he comes to try to make it a fight then he’s getting chinned.

“If he tries to walk me down or drag me into a fight, I’ll knock him spark out. That’s a fact. If he want’s to be fiddly and slick, I’ll out-box him too. I know I am beating him on the night.

“He believes in himself. So it’s going to be a good fight. I think it’s going to be a high-skilled match.

“I do believe it’s going to catch fire. It’ll definitely be all action, and I’m looking forward to it.

“He’s a good fighter. You don’t become a world champion for nothing.

“But I feel I am a better fighter. I am better than him in every department.”

Taylor is set to become the first Scot to top a major payper-view bill in London and he’s determined to put on a show in the biggest fight on UK soil in 2019.

He added: “I’ve always wanted to box on a big show in London. When I first turned professional I’d watch and think it would be great to be a part of one of them.

“What a time to do it – on a massive show.

“It’s a unification bout, there’s the WBA and IBF titles at stake, as well as the Ring Magazine belt and the Ali Trophy. There’s a lot of bling on the line.”

Taylor insisted he’s in fight shape with two weeks to go.

He said: “There’s always butterflies in the stomach before the fight. If someone says they don’t get nervous, they are lying.

“There will be nerves but I don’t feel under any pressure.

“I’m doing my dream job, I’m doing what I love for a living.

“So there’s no pressure for me, I’m just enjoying every single minute of my career.”

If he tries to drag me into a fight I’ll knock him spark out. That’s a fact. JOSH TAYLOR ON HIS PLANS FOR PROGRAIS
