Andy Murray reveals his weekend plans

-

SIR Andy Murray is a double Wimbledon and double Olympic champion. After having hip surgery in January, he has defied all expectations by returning to top-level tennis, reaching the quarter-finals of the China Open this month. He lives in Surrey with his wife Kim and their daughters, Sophia and Edie. IF I’M not training on a Saturday, I’ll make a big family breakfast. It’ll be something like eggs, bagels, fruit and yoghurt – and I’ll drink a collagen shot to help with my hip.

I always like to get out and do things with the family. My favourite is a place called Bocketts Farm Park. The kids love feeding the animals and going on the soft play. It’s so different to a year ago, when my hip was bad and it was a real struggle crawling through tunnels after them.

We’ll go out for a family tea once a week at Pizza Express or Côte Brasserie, and then the girls are in bed by 7pm. In the evening, Kim and I will watch a box set and it’s Fantasy Football day, so I’ll catch up on the scores.

On Sundays, we like to go to a little place in the village for brunch. I’ve started playing a bit of golf so I might do that on a Sunday afternoon, if I get a pass from my wife.

If it’s a training day, I’ll meet early with my team and see my physio for an hour. After that, I’ll do a 30-minute warm-up, two hours of tennis, then an hour in the gym. After lunch I’ll see my physio again to stretch and recover. Whatever I do, I won’t be up late. Andy is taking TRR Nutrition PRO Advanced Collagen daily liquid supplement, which supports joint and bone health. See trrnutrition.com
