RICH CAN HIT HEIGHTS TOO

RANGERS v MOTHERWELL

-

RICHARD TAIT knows Motherwell have a mountain to climb at Ibrox tomorrow.

But if he needs some inspiration he only has to look as far as partner Jessica – after she conquered Kilimanjaro for charity this week.

Rangers go into the game after the battling draw in Porto and defender Tait is well aware that taking anything off them will require a huge effort from Well.

He said: “Jessica climbed Kilimanjaro, which she said was the hardest thing she’s ever done.

“It was some achievement by her – I’ve only got a game of football to play on Sunday and that doesn’t compare to what she’s just done.

“It was organised by the National Trust and the money raised went to help children with water-borne diseases.

“I’m not entirely sure what that is but it’s something to do with fluoride in the water over there and how that affects their bones.

“She sent me photos as she had visited some of the children the cash would be helping.

“It was nice to see and underlined any problems in our lives are fairly minimal by comparison.

“It was a humbling experience for her but now she’s knackered and ready to come home.

“But unfortunately she gets back on Sunday afternoon so I won’t even be able to go and pick her up from the airport!

“She’s been giving me stick for that so I just had to blame Rangers for playing in Europe.

“Hopefully a win for us at Ibrox will soften the blow and that’s certainly our aim going into it.

“People won’t have any expectations of us but we expect to go there and leave with three points.”

Tait is hoping Well can take advantage of any tiredness affecting the Gers players after their trip to Portugal.

He added: “Players are creatures of routine and I’m fairly sure they will be used to playing on Thursdays and Sundays by now but you just never know.

“There might be a little bit of fatigue there that we can try and take advantage of.

“I watched the game on Thursday night and kept a close eye on who was playing for them and how they did.”
