Gregor: Bairns are not freaking out

LEAGUE ONE

-

SKIPPER Gregor Buchanan insists no one in the Falkirk dressing room is hitting the panic button.

On the pitch, a 1-0 defeat at home to Clyde last weekend left the bookies’ title favourites third in the table.

Off it, the Bairns yesterday announced that Mark Campbell’s takeover bid for the club had collapsed.

Today’s trip to eighthplaced Forfar presents another chance to go top having only been able to pull off back-to-back wins once this season.

Buchanan, speaking less than 24 hours before word broke of the takeover falling through, said: “I don’t think we need to rush into anything in terms of crisis meetings.

“We lost, that’s only the second game we have lost this season and we’re now just touching November so it’s not a situation where we need to be losing the rag or anything like that.

“But we are disappointed and frustrated because it is games we feel that we have got 11 out there that should win.”

Forfar have lost their last four in a row, the first time that has happened in two years.

Defender Ross Meechan said: “The gaffer Jim Weir has done amazingly with this club.

“He kept them up when everybody thought they were down when he joined.

“He got us finishing second last year.

“And this season he brought in players he can trust, he relies on and all the boys including myself owe him a big performance.”
