Chairman Dave will make sure it’s not going to be dull

ABERDEEN CHANGES AT THE TOP

- WEDNESDAY

I FULLY expect that Dave Cormack’s reign will bring much-needed razzmatazz back to Aberdeen.

The self-made millionaire will officially take over as chairman from Stewart Milne at next month’s AGM.

But he has already made his mark at his hometown club, helping attract millions of pounds in overseas in line with Scotland’s other top clubs.

Cormack also announced another £5m in working capital from some of his fellow US investors and a link up with MLS side Atlanta United, which will see the two clubs share ideas on scouting, youth development and the commercial side.

The successful tycoon will also have his own ideas to take the club forward, push up revenues and try and break the Dons into UEFA’s elite tier of top 100 clubs.

He is a passionate Aberdeen supporter so the Red Army know that he is one of their own and, as such, he will always have the club’s best interests at heart.

And while the new chairman will be based in Atlanta for a lot of the year, he will still be very much hands-on as he looks to re-engage with the supporters.

He is keen to make it more of a fan experience every time they go to the games.

Cormack also made it clear that trying to find the £45m funding for a new stadium at Kingsford remains the priority.

The new man at the head of the directors’ table is an astute businessman, however, and he knows that the key to all his plans rest on Aberdeen putting a successful team out on the pitch.

The one thing is certain that it certainly won’t be dull as Cormack looks to take his beloved Reds back into the big time.
