THE SPFL 60 IN SECONDS
1 WELL IN AGAIN
Motherwell made it five wins in their last six home games with a deserved 1-0 success over Hearts. Chris Long’s goal secured a third win in a week for the Steelmen with eight scored and zero conceded. A run of form that sees Stephen Robinson’s side soar back into third place.
2 MARTIN’S ON THE BOYLE
Martin Boyle was on top form as Hibs tore apart Aberdeen at Easter Road. The winger gave their backline a torrid time and his double, in a man-of-thematch display, takes Boyle’s Hibs tally to 31. It’s his first double since a 3-0 win at Ayr on November 5, 2016.
3 STEVIE LAYS DOWN LAW
Steven Lawless’ 81st-minute clincher for Livingston in the 3-0 win over Kilmarnock was his seventh goal of the season. The former Partick Thistle midfielder is a key part of Gary Holt’s side and was star man again as Killie were mauled by the Lions.
4 BUDDIE MARVELLOUS
St Mirren secured their first clean sheet away from home this season as they picked up three much-needed points at Hamilton. Not since the playoffs against Dundee United in May have they shut out the opposition outside Paisley – and not since last December in a regular league match.
5 TERRORS ON FIRE
Dundee United have clicked into top gear and their 2-1 win over Alloa made it six straight victories in the league. Nicky Clark scored for the fourth successive game and Robbie Neilson’s side can go 10 points clear at the top of the Championship if they win their game in hand at Morton tomorrow.
