‘Sadistic’ abuser is facing a lengthy jail sentence

-

ONE of Scotland’s most violent domestic abusers has been locked up and warned to expect a “significant” jail term when he reappears for sentence.

Personal trainer Mikie McCash, who terrorised four young women over an eight-year period, fought back tears yesterday as a sheriff remanded him. The “sadistic” 28-year-old

BY JAMES MONCUR slumped forward in the dock as security officers led him away.

Procurator fiscal Marie Irvine detailed the 13 charges to which he pled guilty last week.

He had originally faced 26 charges of violence and traumatic intimidation and abuse against women.

Dundee Sheriff Court heard how he spat on his victims, headbutted and punched them, stuffed socks down their throats, choked them and, in one case, used a pillow to smother one.

In one of the assaults, a victim was rushed to A&E after he bent her arm so far back that a “crack” sound was heard. He also held a knife to the throat of two women and threatened to kill another by crashing the car he was driving.

The repeated assaults took place at various addresses in Dundee between 2008 and 2016.

As he remanded him pending further reports, Sheriff Tom Hughes said: “Your conduct was completely unacceptable and you acted in a sadistic nature and betrayed your victims’ trust.”

Sheriff Hughes deferred sentence until next month and called for a Caledonian Risk Assessment – a programme for men convicted of abuse that involves support for victims.

He warned McCash that a “significant custodial sentence is almost inevitable”.
