Night in front of the fired

-

THE APPRENTICE BBC1, 9pm

IT’S a bit of an Apprentice-athon on BBC1 tonight, as Lord Sugar and his capitalist cohorts basically take over the whole channel for the evening.

Kicking things off at 8pm, we have The Apprentice: Why I Fired Them, which sees Shugs look back over the series so far, reliving the candidates’ best, worst and most cringeworthy performances, followed by the boardroom bust-ups – and explaining why he packed off each person and their suitcase into the back of a cab.

By 10pm, it will all be finished and we will know who this year’s winner is – and which one of the final two has bagged that £250,000 investment and partnership with the Lord himself. Tom Allen presents You’re

Hired, and will be joined by Alan, the winner and runner-up, plus some celebrity superfans and all the fired candidates from this year’s series (well, not all of them. Ahem, Lottie).

But sandwiched in between, at 9pm, is the main event – the final itself where south London artisan bakery owner Carina will face off against West Midlands recruitment business owner Scarlett.

Their final challenge is to create a new brand for their company, produce a digital billboard and make a TV advert, then gather at London’s City Hall to pitch their business to Lord Sugar and an intimidating roomful of industry experts.

And they’ll each be aided in this task by former candidates, aka their defeated rivals.

We foresee no problems here – may the best woman win.
