We must take care of Saints before Old Firm

-

BOLI BOLINGOLI is adamant Celtic won’t lose focus and make a vital slip in the title race. Neil Lennon’s troops are flying high at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership after a run of 10 straight league wins. Victory over nearestchallengers Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday could tighten their grip on the championship flag. However, St Mirren must be negotiated beforehand in Paisley and Bolingoli insists all Hoops eyes are fixed on Jim Goodwin’s troops. The Belgian full-back says Neil Lennon’s troops won’t give Rangers a second thought until the Boxing Day trip to the Simple Digital Arena is over as they aim to maintain their growing momentum in the race for nine in a row. Bolingoli said: “It’s not just about Rangers. The league has 12 teams and it’s not only playing against Rangers that is important. “Every single game is important starting with St Mirren on Boxing Day. “After that we will see what happens against Rangers,

BY CRAIG SWAN but first we must have a rest and then focus on the next game.

“We try to do our job in such a way that we win every game.

“What Rangers do is good for them but it’s not important to us.

“We just need to keep our position as No.1 in the table and, hopefully, we can keep it as long as we can.”

Two victories in the next six days would propel the champions into an eight-point advantage heading into the mid-season break.

But, again, Bolingoli is refusing to look too far ahead. He said: “The season is very long.

“It’s only December now but if we can get to the winter break on top in the league it will feel like a good plus point for us and then we can start again refreshed for the second part of the season.

“We just have to do our job and win every game like we are doing now and then, hopefully, at the end of the season we can have the three cups yet again.

“We are trying to win every game and, if we have an eight-point lead over Rangers, that will be nice.

“But we are not looking at that now and not thinking too much of that.

“It’s just game-by-game and we need to stay focused.

“As I said, every game is important and we stay No.1 in the league.”
