BY TOM BRYANT SIR David Jason has backed The Darling Buds of May being remade, as an alternative to “vulgar” TV shows.

The 78-year-old actor, best known as Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, played Pop Larkin in the rural comedy drama and was known for his catchphrase “Perfick”.

ITV is reportedly rebooting the comedy, which was set in the 50s, also starred Catherine Zeta-Jones and ran for three series from 1991 to 1993.

Sir David was speaking at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where his daughter Sophie, 18, joined him.

He said: “We need more of that style to balance the shows we’ve got.”

BY TOM BRYANT ANT McPARTLIN has told pals his focus is planning a future with his new girlfriend after striking a divorce settlement with his ex.

Ant, 44, is determined to “move on” with personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett.

A friend who is close to Ant said: “It’s all about her now. He just wants them to be happy.”

Anne-Marie was out walking their dogs yesterday but Ant was nowhere to be seen.

Ant and ex Lisa Armstrong, 43, are understood to have held face-to-face talks on Tuesday when they reportedly agreed to sign a divorce settlement.

It has been suggested he offered what has been described as a “generous” £31million.

But she has called the initial reports “nonsense”.

Ant is worth between £50million and £60million.

As part of the supposed deal, Lisa would remain in the £5million west London mansion that was the marital home.

They would also have shared custody of their chocolate labrador, Hurley.

An official statement confirming some kind of agreement is expected in the coming weeks.

The divorce settlement would mark the end of a troubling few years for Ant.

The Geordie, one half of TV duo Ant and Dec, began rehab in June 2017 after he became addicted to painkillers following a knee operation.

He revealed in January 2018 he was splitting from make-up artist Lisa after 11 years of marriage.

The decree nisi was granted in the October of that year. It was claimed their relationship crumbled due to their gruelling work schedules and Ant’s battle with booze.

He was twice the drink-drive limit when he smashed into two other cars in March 2018. He was fined £86,000 and

banned for 20 months.
