TRANSFER ROUND-UP

- BY SCOTT BURNS

LIAM HENDERSON is poised to join Empoli on loan.

The former Celtic and Hibs midfielder has been left frustrated this season after just 195 minutes in Serie A with Verona.

But Serie B side Empoli are closing in on the 23-year-old who they will also have an option to buy. FORMER Hamilton striker Steven Boyd is in demand following his release from East Fife at the end of his short-term deal – with League One rivals Airdrie and Peterhead both chasing the 22-year-old.

Boyd left Hamilton last summer despite having two years of his contract left and joined the Fifers in September after an unsuccessful trial at English League Two side Stevenage.

He scored three times in 10 games but Fifers boss Darren Young opted not to offer him a new deal.

Aridrie stepped in to give the frontman the chance to train with them – but as he is cup-tied no deal will be offered before Ian Murray’s side face Hearts in the Scottish Cup tomorrow.

Blue Toon manager Jim McInally is looking to bolster his attacking options after Rory McAllister departed for Cove and plans talks with Boyd shortly. FALKIRK keeper Robbie Mutch is attracting interest from English League One pair Sunderland and Bolton.

Mutch, 21, who still has 18 months on his contract, is also in talks with the Bairns to try to extend his deal. FINN HARPS want to sign Hibs youngster Kosovar Sadiki with the Irish Premier Division outfit keen to land the defender on loan for the season.

The 20-year- old Canadian, signed from Lokomotiv Zagreb, is also attracting interest from clubs in Scotland. PORTADOWN are set to sign Aidan McAdams from Rangers.

The Scotland Under-19 keeper, who has previously had spells with Annan and Edinburgh City, is ready to move to Northern Ireland for the season on loan. DUMBARTON have signed midfielder Callum Wilson, 20, who was released by Partick Thistle, until the end of the season.
