EXCLUSIVE VICTIMS’ FEARS AND FURY

-

VICTIMS of one of Scotland’s most violent domestic abusers hit out yesterday after it was revealed that he has launched a bid to be freed early.

Sick personal trainer Mikie McCash was sentenced to three years in jail for a reign of terror lasting eight years.

The sadistic 28-year-old pled guilty to 13 charges involving four young victims.

The tattooed monster originally faced 26 charges of violence, traumatic intimidation and abuse against the brave women.

But the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service last night confirmed the brute “lodged a note of appeal against sentence” this month.

His victims were shocked by the decision to allow McCash to launch his bid for freedom.

She added: “I’m not happy at all. He made a plea deal to get a smaller sentence yet he’s appealing that. If he’s so remorseful and sorry for what

BY JAMES MONCUR he’s done, he needs to serve the time he’s been given – it was already less than he deserved.

“He’s a coward and doing everything possible to get out of jail time. I feel like he’s doing this to manipulate the victims and play mind games by dragging it out.

“All it proves to me is that he’s not sorry or changed in the slightest. I was recently just referred to a psychologist for PTSD and I need this to end – not keep dragging out and hurting me any more.”

Another said: “We think he may try to get to us if he gets out early. He’s so scheming and underhand he’ll try to target us in some way that won’t get him in trouble.

“He’s claimed he’s reformed but he’s still not prepared to serve the sentence which we all thought was far too light. He can’t be having a very nice time in prison and may even be fearing for his life – which is exactly what he put us through.”

A third added: “I was shocked and speechless when I heard he was appealing the sentence. I didn’t even know he was allowed to do that.

“None of us think three years was enough from the start. How is this meant to of encourage other victims to come forward too?”

McCash admitted spitting on his victims, head butting and punching them, stuffing socks down their throats, choking them and using a pillow to smother one.

In one of the assaults, a victim was rushed to A&E after he bent her arm so far back that a “crack” sound was heard. He also held a knife to the throat of two women and threatened to kill another by crashing the car he was driving.

Another attack was only stopped when McCash’s father intervened. The assaults took place at various addresses in Dundee between 2008 and 2016.

Sheriff Thomas Hughes described the personal trainer’s offending as “horrific” and “appalling” but cut the sentence from four to three years because of his early plea.

Before being remanded in custody, McCash worked with alcohol and drugs self-help group Recovery Dundee.
