We’ll show Celts that we have the Power

ALAN POWER reckons Kilmarnock’s underdogs of war are set to bite Celtic.

The Irishman and his team-mates are fired up for tonight’s visit of the champions as the Premiership returns to Rugby Park with a bang.

Power and his colleagues sank both sides of the Old Firm last term on their home pitch and the midfielder is relishing getting into the engineroom joust against Parkhead stalwarts Scott Brown and Callum McGregor.

Gary Dicker will join him in the bid for midfield supremacy and he said: “There’s lots of challenges in this league and it’s always good to come up against so-called bigger boys who are probably rated better than myself and Gary.

“But we like being the underdogs and we’ll see if they are up for it as much as us.

“We are not going to shy away from the battle. Myself and Gary grew up in battles coming through the Dublin leagues so we won’t be afraid of that.

“We like to upset any of the so-called bigger teams no matter who is going for the league whether it is Celtic or Rangers.”

Steve Clarke is set for a return to Rugby Park to see his Scotland assistant take charge of his old side.

And Alex Dyer says all focus is on repeating the type of impressive results achieved by the ex-boss against the Old Firm.

The Killie boss said: “It’ll be nice to have him back here. It’s not his style to come in and see the boys but hopefully I’ll see him after the game.

“We know it’s a special game because it’s Celtic but we’ll aim to win. I’m not fussed whether it is a title race. It is all about Kilmarnock for us.”
