GERRARD IN BLASTATREF
were incensed by a studs-up Jon Guthrie challenge on Connor Goldson which only resulted in a booking.
Gerrard didn’t have any issues with those decisions but was left raging at two others.
The Gers boss – whose side remain 10 points behind Celtic – said: “I was disappointed in the officials, I must say.
“Morelos’ goal is onside and there is also a stonewall penalty.
“I don’t like talking about officials, especially after a defeat because you can look like you have the violins out or are looking for excuses.
“But after a win the timing is right. When they look at their performance they will be disappointed.
“There was a blatant handball. The referee said he didn’t mean it because of the conditions.
“He said to Goldson he couldn’t give it because of the conditions.
“That is a new one. We could’ve been in a more comfortable position.
“We’d two goals chopped off, he got the second one right but at this level you expect decisions like that to be right.
“The result is important to us but people will look at the highlights of this game and think we rode our luck because they hit the post.
“But that would have been a 3-0 if the officiating was better.”
Gerrard admitted their preparations for the match weren’t ideal after it was hastily rearranged following Saturday’s postponement.
They now host Braga in the Europa League on
Thursday and Gerrard added: “The preparation wasn’t ideal, it never is when a game is cancelled and moved back 24 hours.
“Everyone knows we are not firing on all cylinders at the moment so it is important we get the job done and got over the line and we did that.”
Andy Halliday sustained an eye injury after falling over an advertising board and Gerrard said: “He’s a very lucky boy. He has gone over the advertising board and there has been a chair upside down.
“The chair leg or part of the chair has gone and he has got a gash underneath his eyebrow.
“He is an extremely lucky but he was excellent and showed a lot of grit.”
Livi boss Gary Holt – who saw Lyndon Dykes hit a post late on – was unhappy at the rescheduling of the game but said: “I told the players not to use the quick rearrangement as an excuse.
“I told them not to come in after the game and say we didn’t have time to prep right and it wasn’t our usual routine.
“The game was on, we accepted it and got on with it.
“It wasn’t ideal but both teams approached it in the right manner and went about it in the right way.
“Considering the conditions I thought it was a really good game of football between two sides bang at it.
“I’m disappointed we didn’t get something out of the game and I wondered why Lyndon was shooting his effort off the post as I thought he could have taken a touch.
“But that’s why he’s a striker and I wasn’t!”
