Prisoner’s at her Whits end

Whitney insists she killed stalker Leo in self-defence but will cope believe her?

-

The events of last week are still reverberating around the Square, as lives change, lies unravel and someone desperately tries to cover their tracks. And if all that wasn’t shocking enough, Chantelle discovers that Leo is dead and Whitney has been arrested.

At least Tiffany still has her wits about her as she persuades an initially reluctant Gray to take Whitney’s case.

His client is maintaining she acted in self-defence – and gets increasingly frustrated when the police still keep asking her questions. However, Gray is also starting to think that her story doesn’t add up.

He’s suspicious enough to ask her if she called anyone but Whitney lies about contacting Mick. The lawyer is also confused to learn that Whitney headed off to the boat party in a taxi with Kush and the Vic’s landlord.

Sadly, Gray’s doubts aren’t just bad news for Whitney. When he’s feeling under pressure, Gray has a nasty habit of taking it out on his nearest and dearest. So it’s no wonder Chantelle starts to worry when he snaps at little Mia and Mackenzie. At least Karen wants to ease some of the stress on Tiffany, as she helps Keegan with an idea to cheer her up. But as is so often the way in Walford, his well-meaning plan goes awry. Elsewhere, Daniel is touched when Jean offers to look after him because his hospice is closing. He reassures her that he won’t die until he knows she’s okay – which may be the reason Jean is reluctant to tell him when she gets the all-clear following her MRI scan.

However, Mo lets the news slip and Daniel and Jean head to the Square gardens together, where there’s a shock in store.
