Ilkay star kid takes bite out of Steelmen

DAVID TURNBULL’S longawaite­d return cued the biggest cheer of the night only for Ilkay Durmus to silence the Steelmen.

The 20-year-old midfielder was handed the final 19 minutes more than nine months on from his last Motherwell appearance.

A knee problem that scuppered his £3.25million move to Celtic last summer required surgery, keeping him out of Well’s rise to third in the Premiershi­p table.

But Durmus slammed home a brilliant 87th-minute winner to spoil the comeback and boost the Buddies’ hopes of Premiershi­p survival.

MOTHERWELL want to land Ricki Lamie from Livingston.

The Steelmen are keen on a deal for the 26-year-old defender, who also has interest from England, and are boosted by the fact his contract is up in the summer.
