CELTIC v COPENHAGEN

-

CELTIC fans are licking their lips at the prospect of a quadruple Treble but Paul Hartley insists they should also be dreaming of Europa League glory.

The Parkhead men are 12 points clear in the Premiership and have already claimed the League Cup, with a Scottish Cup quarter-final spot booked.

But it’s on the continent where their biggest dream lies, on the road to the final in Gdansk.

Celtic take on Copenhagen at Parkhead tomorrow night in the second leg of their last-32 clash, having returned from Denmark last week with a 1-1 draw.

Former Hoops star Hartley, now boss of League Two leaders Cove Rangers, expects them to progress and insists there’s no reason why Neil Lennon’s side can’t reach the final.

He said: “They have a good chance of going all the way.

“It comes down to the luck of the draw sometimes but they’re playing well and showing they are more than a match for anyone in the tournament.

“I don’t think any of the teams

BY left in it will fancy going to Celtic Park, while Celtic have their away form sorted in Europe, compared to how it used to be.

“You saw that last week in Copenhagen and earlier in the season with some of their other results, including the win against Lazio in Rome.

“Plus we already know they can beat anyone at Celtic Park.

“They’ve got a strong enough squad to compete in Europe and domestically. Just look at their bench now.”

When it was pointed out that if Rangers also progress to the last 16 by seeing off Braga in Portugal tonight the Glasgow giants could face each other in the next round, Hartley was a master of understatement.

He said: “That would be one hell of a tie.”

Lennon’s men need to get the job done against the Danes first but that’s something they’ve been doing relentlessly.

Hartley said: “Having watched them since the turn of the year, they have a great chance.

“They’re in good form and have that vital away goal after a good performance last week, particularly in the first half. I like the way they’re playing.

“Changing their system to a 3-5-2 seems to have suited them so, especially with that crowd behind them, I’d expect them to win.

“Losing their captain – if Scott Brown does miss out – would be a big blow but they have enough quality in their squad to bring someone else in without losing too much.”

Hartley also raved about the form of Callum McGregor, claiming the midfielder has become a pivotal player.

He said: “The way Callum is
