BAYER LEVERKUSEN boss Peter Bosz is backing star man Kai Havertz to show the Ibrox crowd exactly why he’s linked with a £100million move to some of Europe’s top clubs.

The German giants travel to Scotland next Thursday to face Rangers in the Europa League last 16.

Havertz has attracted attention from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich and was pivotal in his side’s 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig yesterday.

The 20-year-old set up his side’s opener, scored by the Jamaican Leon Bailey.

It extended Leverkusen’s unbeaten run to seven but they will be baffled how they left without taking all three points after Patrik Schick’s equaliser.

Leverkusen have another two matches before they face Rangers, meeting Union Berlin in the German Cup on Wednesday before Frankfurt travel to the BayArena in the Bundesliga next Saturday.

Havertz has been described as a player with the technique of Mesut Ozil and the engine of Michael Ballack and his deft touch and control yesterday left no doubt he’s a special talent.

Bosz said: “Havertz is a good player and I hope the Rangers fans see how good he is! Rangers are a fantastic club. Playing at Ibrox looks wonderful.”

Leverkusen were without captain Lars Bender but Bosz expects the German utility man to be fit to face the Light Blues.

The 30-year-old suffered a bruised leg last week away to Portugal and had to be subbed off at halftime in the convincing 3-1 victory over Rangers’ group stage opponents.

Bosz said: “Lars was unable to play so we have to wait and see how it looks on Wednesday.

“It’s not a bad thing but he still couldn’t play. ”
