I HOPE SEX GANG ROT IN JAIL

Jordyn endured months of abuse when she was 14

A TEENAGER raped by a gang of paedophiles has said she hopes they “rot in jail”.

Jordyn Ferguson was groomed at 14 and endured months of being sexually abused.

A WOMAN has told how she was raped by a group of paedophiles who used her as a “sex object”.

Jordyn Ferguson was groomed when she was only 14 and endured months of being raped and sexually abused.

Jordyn, now 19, said: “I hope they rot. I hate them. They deserve to be put away and never let out.”

Last month, Aivars Hauberts, 21, Ailands Aleksanders, 22, and Ludvigs Rudevics, 35, were found guilty of raping Jordyn, while co-accused Hardis Gindra, 27, was convicted of having underage sex with her.

It took an intensive four-year police investigation to secure a conviction against the paedophiles and Jordyn has chosen to waive her anonymity and expose the full impact of their depravity.

She said: “I haven’t been able to speak out. I lost power when this happened, I had no control and I felt hopeless.

“That changed when I went to court to testify and they were found guilty.

“I felt happy for the first time – that I had taken some power back.”

Jordyn was at her lowest ebb when she was introduced to Hauberts, Aleksanders and Gindra through a school friend. It was a period when her life was chaotic as she skipped lessons at school, often went missing from home and had problems in her relationship with her father.

The erratic behaviour was uncharacteristic for a girl who had been a model pupil, with dreams of becoming a lawyer.

She said: “I had been doing really well at school and I saw education as the key to everything.”

Jordyn added: “My mother tried her best – none of this was her fault. I tell her that every single day.”

The men were dressed in designer clothes, drove fast cars and, when she ran away or played truant, they convinced her they were her port in the storm.

They seized their opportunity to exploit her, grooming her with cigarettes, alcohol, cannabis and compliments and bought her a phone to contact them.

She said: “Their attitude changed overnight from zero to 100, from telling me I looked nice to saying they wanted sex with me.”

They plied her with Mad Dog fortified wine and vodka and, when she was helplessly drunk, they raped her. She said: “I was so vulnerable. I had no confidence or self-respect, so it happened and it kept happening. “I didn’t think I could feel any worse than before I met them but I became numb. It was so horrible, I fell lower than I thought was possible. I felt worthless.”

Her vulnerability was exploited for three months. She would go alone to flats of their choosing around different areas of Glasgow to be plied with drink and raped.

She said: “It happened often. I was so intoxicated, I was so numb, I actually don’t know how many raped me. Maybe a handful. I was just lying there, just feeling I was an object. ”

After they were finished with her, they were dismissive and cold.

On her 15th birthday in June 2015, they laid on snacks and alcohol, and Hauberts and Aleksanders raped her when she was drunk.

As her mother grew increasingly desperate with her disappearances, a social worker was assigned to Jordyn and, in time, she admitted she was being exploited.

The police became involved but she still kept contact with the men and, on July 14, 2015, Jordyn failed to show for an appointment with a support worker.

She had skipped a taxi and met up with Aleksanders and Gindra. When she was drunk enough in the middle of the night, they took her to a flat in Castlemilk in Glasgow. Inside she was introduced to Rudevics and another middle-aged male. This time, the men, all from Latvia, made no pretence that she had been brought to them for anything other than sex.

Jordyn said: “I was really scared

– they looked weird and I didn’t know them. They spoke in their own language most of the time.

“I thought they could kill me and no one would know. They were pacing and on edge and I knew they could stop me if I ran. I had already been drinking and lay down in the bedroom and they came in and raped me.”

But the police traced her and took her, shellshocked, from the flat. However, the authorities couldn’t hold all the men. Aleksanders and Gindra were arrested and charged in 2015 but Rudevics and Hauberts fled the country. A European Arrest Warrant was issued and the pair were arrested in Latvia and extradited to Scotland last year.

After a period in care to detach her from the men, Jordyn was reunited with her mum and given counselling.

After a Police Scotland investigation led by Detective Inspector Christopher Nisbet, there was enough evidence to try the men.

In court, Jordyn walked past the men before giving her testimony behind a screen. While part of her wanted her abusers to watch her expose them, she feared she could crumble and jeopardise the case.

She said: “I hadn’t dealt with what happened properly and that wasn’t the time to break but I did want to be in the same room as them, so they knew I wasn’t afraid.”

She wasn’t in the High Court in Glasgow to hear the verdict but her mother called and, weeping, said: “Guilty.” Jordyn said: “I didn’t think we would get that verdict. I cried too because I was relieved and I was happy to know I had been believed.”

She spoke out to encourage other victims of sexual assault to come forward and praised DI Nisbet for his determination to secure justice.

Jordyn said: “People say I was brave but I don’t think that. I still think about what happened every day and I am numb. I fear the time when it hits me properly. But I am glad I went to the police and I would tell any other victim to do the same.”

Now she is in a relationship and has a five-month-old daughter. Jordyn said: “I thought I would be dead by now but I have my own home and a relationship and a baby. I do see my future as positive.”

The four men are due to be sentenced on March 17.
