Fras: Share is fair as we didn’t blow it
FRASER MULLEN saw his free-kicks sail high and wide but was happy to blame the swirling winds at Galabank.
The Cowdenbeath right-back is usually a lethal dead-ball specialist but watched in anguish as his efforts soared over the crossbar in their 0-0 draw with Annan.
Mullen said: ”It was murder out there. I know it can look difficult from the side in that sort of weather but it was even worse on the pitch, really hard going.
”When the keeper is taking a bye-kick and the ball is coming back towards him you know things are not right.
“I had a couple of free-kicks that went way off, maybe I can get away with blaming the wind!
”However, it was the same for both teams and a draw was a fair result in the end. This is never an easy place to come so I don’t think we should be too disappointed.
”We are still in third spot and hopefully on course for the play-offs.”
Annan skipper Steven Swinglehurst headed wide from point-blank range from a Mark Docherty cross in the 15th minute.
And with 15 minutes to go the big defender did exactly the same, narrowly heading wide.
Cowden’s best chance came on half-time when Graham Taylor was foiled by Alex Mitchell’s diving save.
