F1 is Lew boring for the fans

UPDATE

-

LANDO NORRIS fears another season of Lewis Hamilton domination will continue to drive fans away from Formula One.

Hamilton will start the new campaign, which begins in Australia on Sunday, as firm favourite to win his sixth world title in seven years.

His Mercedes team look set to reign again after unveiling their dual-axis steering system.

And British kid Norris, set for his second season at McLaren, said: “I know a lot of people who don’t watch Formula One because all they see is a Mercedes winning and it looks boring.

“I hope it doesn’t happen this year but it is likely it will. It is a shame but what can you do about it?

“There are so many little things that Mercedes have worked so hard on, like the steering wheel. They come up with these ideas which are just insane and you have to say hats off.

“Everyone needs to do a better job and catch up.” CRICKET: Zak Crawley hopes his knock of 91 in yesterday’s warm-up match can land him a slot for England’s first Test in Sri Lanka.

Ollie Pope hit 77 as the tourists reached 320-7 in their second innings before shaking on a draw against a Sri Lankan XI.

And ahead of the twoTest series, which begins on March 19, Crawley said: “If the people above think I’m ready to go I’ll play in Galle. I hope I can do well.” CYCLING Italy’s Giacomo Nizzolo won the second stage of the Paris-Nice race, pipping Germany’s Pascal Ackermann in a sprint.

Buffer zones will now be placed between riders and spectators to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
