Skipper Meekings said: “We’ve a set programme which has been sent out to the boys.

“It’s difficult because you don’t want to be going out in groups and it’s hard to do it on your own.

“You just follow that and the guidelines as best you can. You try do a little bit to keep ticking over, but we also need to be careful because we are doing it ourselves.

“It’s just about trying to make the most of it.

ABERDEEN stand ready to open Pittodrie to help in the war against coronaviru­s.

And they plan to recruit current and former Dons players to help with regular check-ins over the phone for fans in isolation.

The club have proposed potentiall­y opening up the Richard Donald Stand as a testing facility for COVID19 and have even talked of offering practical support to the emergency services.

Its partner charity, AFC Community Trust, will be helping in the delivery of food to areas where they already work to reduce food poverty, supporting kids during school closures.

Dons chairman Dave Cormack, self-isolating in the States, said: “We have drawn up a battle plan which will allow us to provide practical support to those who need it most and to bring our fans and the community together in our fight against the virus.

“Throughout our history we have been supported by our revered and loyal Red Army, Standing Free every step of the way. Now we will rally behind our fans and the wider community in their time of need.”
