PLAY LEMISTA FOR WIN

- BY GARRY OWEN

LEMISTA (4.30) can land the Park Express Stakes on day one of the new Irish Flat Turf season at Naas.

A fair fourth on debut at Leopardstown, Ger Lyons’ charge improved again when fifth in a warmer event at Cork.

However, she clearly relished switching to heavy ground when slamming the promising Gin Blossom at Gowran next time.

The filly has the scope to be even better at three so she can take this promotion to Group 3 level in her stride.

Jim Bolger targets this meeting and can land the maiden with ALLAGAR (2.00).

The daughter of Vocalised makes plenty of appeal on paper having been given some smart entries by the Coolcullen Maestro.

Bolger can add the valuable Madrid Handicap to his tally with REAL APPEAL (3.30). A Listed winner in France the gelding also showed some solid form at a similar level for his connections last year.

The son of Sidestep is open to plenty of progress over seven furlongs and he can shade a trappy race under Kevin Manning.

Aidan O’Brien can enjoy his first winner of the campaign with KNIGHT OF MALTA (2.30).

The colt looks a surefire improver at three after his good fourth to the classy Hong Kong on debut here in October.

TITANIUM SKY (3.00) rates a typical Dermot Weld improver in the Opening Day Handicap. The grey is no slouch over a mile and signed off with a respectable fourth to Surrounding in Listed company at Dundalk.

Best caught fresh, the filly doesn’t lack speed and she can regain the winning thread back over six furlongs.

The Kildare Maestro can double up with BROGUE (4.00) in the Devoy Stakes. The Frankel colt oozed class when defeating the talented Up Helly Aa on debut in a red-hot Cork maiden in May.

I doubt we’ve seen the best of this smart type who can upset Sir Dragonet on his first try at Listed company.

Weld can complete a treble thanks to EMIYN (5.00) in the closing EBF Maiden. The threeyear-old can build on fourth to Nobel Prize on debut over course and distance in November.
