Uva said: “It’s not a matter for us, it will be up to each league to decide.
“The only issue concerns those players who have contracts or loans expiring on June 30 but that isn’t a matter for UEFA.
“We will only ask for the list of teams that will participate in the next European competitions by a certain date.”
Uva’s bombshell comes just 24 hours after UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin admitted the current campaign “will probably be lost” if the coronavirus outbreak prevents football from resuming by the end of UEFA’s June 30 deadline.
It’s understood voiding the season, as has happened with the English non-leagues, isn’t a realistic option and leaves only two outcomes of either calling the season now or finishing the campaign at a later date and pushing back the start of next season.
That would likely mean condensing the 2020-21 campaign with the European Championship, of which Glasgow is one of 13 host cities, due to kick off on June 11.
Uva also reflected on the decision to postpone Euro 2020 by a year.
He said: “UEFA gave a sign of unity and solidarity and gave priority to the health of everyone and the sustainability of the system.
“It certainly wasn’t the sad spectacle we’re seeing from the European Union.
“Now we’re the guide and a point of co-ordination for federations, clubs and leagues that are living through completely different situations given the different levels of contagion of the coronavirus now.”
