WWE star a fan of Caelan’s book
A SEVEN-year-old boy who turned his passion for wrestling into a moneymaking scheme for nurses is on the verge of TV stardom.
We told recently how Caelan McFaulds wrote a book about his ambition to become a WWE wrestler.
But little could he have imagined his plan to sell the book to raise cash for treats for nurses at Monklands Hospital would win the support of two of WWE’s top names and end up with a screen test for a TV show.
Caelan’s dad Stevie, 33, from Airdrie, said: “The boss of WWE, Triple H, and the WWE champion, Drew McIntyre, from Ayrshire, have both been in touch.”
Just days after we told Caelan’s story, Triple H tweeted: “Last week, I learned about a young man who wrote a story about his dream of being in the main
event of
BY ViVieNNe aiTKeN #WrestleMania and since then, Caelan has raised over £1200.”
Later, Drew tweeted: “What an incredible story and gesture. Seven-year-old Caelan has raised over £1500 for @NHSUk with his tale of main eventing WrestleMania against myself. As I told you, stick in school, work hard and one day you’ll turn fiction into non-fiction, pal.”
Drew later sent Caelan a video in which he promises to visit him with his title belt when he is next in Scotland.
The wrestler said: “I am perusing my new favourite book The Main Event of Wrestlemania by Caelan McFaulds. Pretty awesome.”
Caelan, who prefers to be known by his Captain Chaos wrestling moniker, has also been selected to take part in a TV show hosted by Roman and Martin Kemp, which looks at inspirational kids.
Stevie said: “It is unbelievable that a $1billion company like WWE would take the time to correspond with a family from Airdrie.
“And for Drew to come to his door with the WWE belt will be priceless for Caelan.”
