Kasabian star battered his fiancee in a drunken rage
EX-KASABIAN singer Tom Meighan wept yesterday as a court was shown CCTV footage of him attacking his fiancee.
He put his hands around Vikki Ager’s neck and dragged her by her ankles in a boozefuelled rage at their home.
A terrified child who saw the attack rang 999. Vikki, 31, could be heard screaming “get off me” as he called her “sl*g”.
Meighan, who left the rock band on Monday, sobbed at Leicester Magistrates’ Court as prosecutors played the images from two external cameras.
Bare-chested Meighan throws Vikki, a holistic therapist, against a hamster cage in a covered outdoor area.
He also drags her by the ankles for several metres.
In another clip, Meighan threatens to hit Vikki with a wooden pallet.
He had been drinking heavily
WITH BAND Meighan (2nd left) at home in Narborough, Leicestershire, when violence began at 8pm. His partner of four years was left with a swollen eye, a head injury and bruises to her knees, elbow and ankle. The court heard she did not support the prosecution.
Meighan was so aggressive cops had to call for back-up to take him to a police station.
He denied the attack but came clean after being shown the video evidence.
Meighan admitted assault by beating. He was told he could have been jailed but was given 200 hours of unpaid work.
District judge Nick Watson said: “You have left down many people, band members and people who love your music.”
A statement from Kasabian said: “We were left with no choice but to ask Tom to leave. There is no way we can condone domestic violence.”
