GHISLAINE Maxwell is being sued on claims she recruited girls for her paedophile lover Jeffrey Epstein.
A victim of the late financier has launched legal proceedings in the US against the British socialite’s £20million fortune.
It is the first time Prince Andrew’s pal, 58, who denies wrongdoing and is suing Epstein’s estate to recoup legal fees, is being pursued for damages.
She was arrested last week and hit with six charges, including trafficking minors for sex. She is being held in a New York maximumsecurity jail.
A well-placed legal source said: “We expect an avalanche of cases to come forward now.
“Many more women who were abused by Epstein are coming forward and many more are on the verge of having the courage to do so.
“These women allege Maxwell was Epstein’s chief facilitator and believe she should bear responsibility for her actions.”
The indictment lists claims from three women, one who was 14 at the time of the alleged abuse between 1994 and 1997, that Maxwell helped recruit them for Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking scheme.
The woman at the centre of this claim is not part of the criminal case.
Maxwell faces up to 35 years in jail if convicted.
One Epstein victim, Virginia Giuffre, 36, claims Prince Andrew had sex with her when she was 17, which he denies.
US Attorney General Bill Barr said the FBI “definitely” want to talk to the Prince. He added: “The department ... made it clear that we would like to interview him.”
