YOU would have to say yes because there are so many games in the first half of this season that cover is going to be essential.

KATIC was a blow, but Polster only played seven games in 18 months and was hardly Carlos Alberto. That said, the manager will probably look for cover in both areas, although Nathan Patterson could step up as understudy on the right-hand side from the reserves.

I actually think there’s enough in central defence as I’d expect Connor Goldson and Filip Helander to start but I’m a big fan of George Edmundson too. Right back looks a little bare though and despite the potential in Patterson a back-up to James Tavernier is required.
