KILLIE CLOSE IN ON RETURN FORTSHIBOLA

EXCLUSIVE

KILMARNOCK are in talks over re-signing former loan star Aaron Tshibola.

And the Rugby Park outfit are also closing in on a deal to bring keeper Daniel Bachmann back to the club for a second spell.

Manager Alex Dyer is continuing his efforts to strengthen his squad with just eight days to go before his troops kick-off the Premiership with an away clash against Hibs.

Tshibola could return to Ayrshire to be reunited with Dyer on a free after he was released from a contract in Portugal.

The midfielder was signed by former gaffer Steve Clarke from Aston Villa for a loan spell two-and-a-half years ago before heading back south and on to Belgian club Waasland Beveren.

Tshibola signed an 18-month contract with Desportivo Das Aves in January but financial troubles at the Portuguese outfit saw his agreement terminated and he is now back on Killie’s radar.

The Ayrshire side are also still hunting a swoop for Bachmann and are edging closer to an agreement.

Watford star has been targeted for a loan deal having enjoyed a top 2018/19 campaign with the club under previous gaffer Clarke.

Bachmann has been part of the Hornets squad who have been fighting relegation from the English Premier League as he offers back-up to firstchoice Ben Foster and No.2 Heurelho Gomes.

However, with just one game to go for Watford in the top-flight campaign south of the border against Arsenal on Sunday, the 26-year-old will soon be available for Killie to advance their move.

Last term’s keepers Laurentiu Branescu, Jan Koprevic and Jamie MacDonald have all departed Rugby Park.

Dyer insists that, although he will continue to keep tabs on the market until the window closes in October, he is getting the squad close to where he wants it. He said: “We might need one or two, nothing major.

“Until the window shuts, I will always be looking to do business.”
