Letters claim judge was pal of alleged victim as he demands new lawyer

EX-DEATH Row prisoner Kenny Richey claims he is being “railroaded” back to jail by corrupt US court officials after he escaped execution.

The 55-year-old Scot demanded a new defence lawyer and a different judge just days before standing trial in Ottawa, Ohio, last week.

He was accused and convicted of issuing chilling death threats via Facebook Live to former prosecutor Randall Basinger, who was involved in his 1986 murder conviction.

The ex-marine now faces up to 12 years behind bars after a jury took just 90 minutes to find him guilty of four counts of retaliatio­ns last Wednesday.

But in hand-written letters seen by the Daily Record, Richey claims his right to a fair trial was being thwarted by “corrupt” public officials.

He also made startling claims that the judge in his latest trial was allegedly friends with victim Basinger and that his reputation in the area meant he was “hated” by potential jurors.
