New tartan to raise cash for Trust
BY DANIEL HARKINS A NEW tartan has been created to help preserve Scotland’s heritage.
The Save Our Scotland tartan was designed by Highland company Prickly Thistle and will be used to raise money for the National Trust for Scotland.
It has been officially listed by the Scottish Register of Tartans and comes in two versions representing the charity’s past and future.
The Hands of the Past tartan includes blue, green, brown and grey, while the Hands of the Future version is red.
The Trust announced a loss of essential income of £28million last month caused by Covid-19 lockdown measures.
Its Save our Scotland emergency appeal aims to raise at least £2.5million.

DESIGN duo Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan will be “sashaying” on to our screens tonight when they make a cameo appearance on the Canadian version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The makeover gurus, who have become huge celebrities across the pond, were thrilled to be asked to guest star in the show which sees a dozen drag queens compete for the title of Canada’s next drag superstar.
Colin said: “We were both literally gagging with excitement and swooning when we heard they were launching Canada’s Drag Race as we have been massive fans of the American show for years.
“Then when we were booked to do a day’s filming in the company of Canada’s most sickening queens, we had a full-on, unadulterated, highimpact nosebleed. The glamour. The stakes. The fashion.
