Greg aiming to add even more assists

-

BY cRaig SWan GREG TAYLOR has vowed to keep supplying ammunition for Celtic’s top guns to fire.

The Parkhead full-back was at the heart of the 5-1 win over Hamilton with a strong attacking display.

Taylor surged forward to provide assists for both Odsonne Edouard and Jeremie Frimpong and he says he’s been encouraged by boss Neil Lennon to play his part going forward as well as doing his defensive duties.

Taylor said: “I was glad to contribute with a couple of assists.

“The gaffer wants me to get crosses into the box and it’s my aim to do that.

“I’m enjoying being in the team and I want to rack up as many assists as I can. Jeremie is such an attacking threat and it was nice he was able to get one the end of one at the back post.

“It was a great win and good to get a few goals as well.

“We started really well and got two goals relatively early before losing a scrappy one. But second half the boys came right out of the traps and scored early.

“The manager was happy with the start but felt we just got a wee bit sloppy and weren’t moving the ball quickly enough.

“The boys started doing that at the start of the second half and got the goals we needed.

“We just take it one game at a time. There have been no messages sent.

“We just focus on another good win and will look to do it again at Kilmarnock on Sunday.”

Taylor also added his words of praise for hitman Edouard.

The French striker had 28 goals last term before the campaign was closed early and got off the mark this term with his treble against Hamilton.

And Taylor told Sky Sports: “Words probably cannot describe Odsonne.

“He’s massive and a special player. We’re very glad to have him.”
