TOMMIE HOBAN aims to make the most of his second chance at Aberdeen after fearing his career was in ruins.

The defender has dislocated his shoulder and torn cruciate ligaments in both knees in the past three seasons.

Hoban suffered the second cruciate injury while on loan at Aberdeen two seasons ago and was invited back to Cormack Park to do his rehab.

He was given a shortterm contract until Christmas and admitted: “It has been a hell of an 18 months but to get the deal signed last week really was a good feeling.

“It has been very tough. The longer you are out of the game you start to worry about if there are going to be opportunit­ies when you come back.

“Mentally there were a lot of tough times but I am fortunate to have a good family around me and they helped to give me the strength to keep going.

“Straight after the injury, I had just come back from the knee the year before so I knew how long I would be out for.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ has taken a staggering £300,000-a-week wage cut to complete his move from Manchester United to Inter Milan.

The United flop has agreed a three-year deal with the Italian giants but has agreed to give up wages of £1.2million a month to secure a free transfer.
