Temps: Just Don call us favourites

-

DAVID TEMPLETON insists Hamilton will still be the underdogs against Aberdeen despite the Dons missing their Covid 19-crew.

The Pittodrie club have two players down with the virus and another six in self-isolation – and Wednesday’s clash in the Granite City is not guaranteed to go ahead.

Aberdeen’s game with St Johnstone was called off after the outbreak and the government could pull the plug this week as well.

But Templeton insisted Accies have to take it as business as usual and he is expecting a stiff test no matter what kind of side Derek McInnes manages to cobble together.

The frontman said: “Even with the players they have out I still wouldn’t say we’re favourites. We have come up with big results at places before but we have to make sure we work hard for each other.

“At places like Pittodrie, if you are giving the ball away constantly it will be waves and waves of attack then you tire yourself out.”

It’ll be out of Hamilton’s hands but Templeton is not stressing about heading up to a virus hotspot. He said: “I don’t have any fears about going up to Aberdeen.

“I’m sure their squad will be tested again before we head there. Hopefully everything will be fine. We only have to worry about trying to get three points, regardless of what team Aberdeen put out. “We have to be a lot better than we were against Ross County. It is a massive season for us and we need to get as many points on the board as early as we can.”
