On the eve of Armageddon

TWO WEEKS TO LIVE

Sky One, 10pm

THIS new six-part comedy drama has an excellent premise and an equally great cast.

Game of Thrones’s Maisie Williams stars as Kim, a young woman who’s been raised in remote isolation in the Highlands of Scotland by her strange survivalist mum Tina (played by the brilliant Fleabag star Sian Clifford).

Kim’s decided she’s finally ready to see something of the real world and reckons the skills gained during her upbringing will stand her in good stead. Unfortunately, while she might know how to handle a shotgun and gut a deer, she hasn’t quite grasped the concept of some other, pretty basic things, such as how to manage money or meet and mingle with other humans.

However, she won’t let a few minor setbacks put her off – as the cafe owner who tries to rip her off over breakfast soon realises, to his bloody horror.

Hey, this is the girl who saw off the Night King, mate – don’t mess with her.

Carrying her dad’s ashes, Kim is on a tour of places with a connection to her family’s past. And when she stops in the pub where her parents had their first date, she meets brothers Nicky and Jay.

A harmless and well-meaning attempt from Jay to help his brother get over the heartbreak of being dumped soon looks like it’s going to backfire spectacularly, when – thanks to a bit of internet trickery – Kim becomes convinced the world is going to end in two weeks. And so starts a journey of carnage and revenge.
